Where should I stay?

Both our ceremony and reception will be held at Mactan Newtown Beach Cebu, approximately 20 minutes from Mactan-Cebu International Airport.

We recommend staying in Mactan Newtown which is within walking distance of the venue and close to restaurants, cafés, supermarkets, pharmacies and ATMs.

If you're staying at another resort or hotel in Mactan please allow at least 30 minutes travel time to the venue.

Cebu is known for its traffic so if you're staying on the main island (Cebu City) allow at least one hour to travel to Mactan Newtown.

If you're interested in discounted accommodation at Mercure Mactan, please email Theresa at bookings@heyheyholiday.com.au with the number of people in your party and the dates you would like to stay.

Can I bring kids?

Absolutely! We would love for your whole family to celebrate with us, including the little ones.

Flights

The cheapest way to get to Cebu is by flying Cebu Pacific - but keep in mind it is a low cost carrier with no food or entertainment included.

Jetstar and Qantas fly to Cebu during April/May, however flights can be limited.

Phillipines Airlines also offers flights to Cebu.

If you don’t mind travelling a few extra hours, Malaysia Airlines and Singapore Airlines are great carriers and sometimes have special deals if you book early.

SIM Cards

We recommend using Globe. You can purchase a Globe SIM card from one of the kiosks in the arrivals area at Mactan-Cebu International Airport.

If you'd prefer an eSIM, we recommend Airalo which you can set up before you travel.

What's the best way to get around?

The easiest way to get around is with the Grab app, which is similar to Uber.

You can also book a private driver through Klook or arrange one through your hotel or resort.

For the full Filipino experience, hop on a jeepney or tricycle. Just make sure you carry some cash as cards aren’t accepted.

Do you have any travel tips?

We recommend drinking bottled water while you're in the Philippines.

If it's your first visit you may want to avoid street food until your stomach has adjusted.

If you have a sensitive stomach, start a probiotic before you travel. When you arrive we recommend taking Erceflora Gut Defense - it’s available from Watsons pharmacies.

Some people also experience motion sickness on Philippine roads. We recommend bringing travel sickness tablets from Australia as local tablets can cause drowsiness.
